The Story of Carmarthenshire
By David Morgan
David Morgan was born in Swansea around 1850 and wrote the book over the period 1881, 1891 and 1901. He lived at Bridge Street, Llandeilo and married Mary Samuel. He read extensively and found abundant material about Carmarthenshire scattered throughout numerous books and decided to bring the salient parts together a book about the county that was both easy to read and understand. The text and images of The Story of Carmarthenshire was originally printed in sepia in a slightly smaller format than A5.
David was a member of the Carmarthenshire Antiquarian Society and a teacher at Ffairfach Council School, Llandeilo, in 1909.
This Cd is a copy of his work in Adobe pdf format, bookmarked and fully searchable.

The information is sketchy but this is what has been discovered:
David Morgan married Mary Samuel in the second quarter of 1878 at Llandilofawr.
Mary Samuel was
living with her parents, John and Catherine, in 1861 and
with
her widowed mother in 1871.
There are
too many
possibilities
for David Morgan born in the Swansea area
to locate him.
There are intriguing entries in the 1901 1891 and 1881 censuses.
The
fact that Aldwyth Morgan was an assistant teacher in 1901 - was this
Ffairfach?
The unusual names given to some of the children.
A possible marriage for John Samuel and Catherine Paget at Llandilofawr in the third quarter of 1848 which probably explains the Paget in the eldest son's name.
